In the past the Schoolmaster was the ruler and head of a school. He made all of the decisions for his teachers and students. Today the principal works together with teachers and parents to conduct the business of teaching the students.
A Burgomaster is a mayor in Germany and other places in European countries. A mayor is the leader of a town's governing body. He/She is usually answers to a Town Counsel. they can be elected or appointed.
