It Is Essential For Students To Know:
- It is essential for students to know that Americans celebrate holidays such as Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Presidents Day and Martin Luther King Day as a reflection of our democratic values and our struggle for independence.
- Students should know that Independence Day is celebrated July 4th to mark the birth of America.
- Students should know that Thanksgiving is celebrated the fourth Thursday of November to celebrate the friendship between early settlers and Native Americans.
- Students should know that Presidents Day is celebrated in February to honor all American presidents.
- Students should know that Martin Luther King Day is celebrated in January to remember the efforts of Martin Luther King on his birthday.
It Is Not Essential For Students To Know:
- It is not essential for students to know other holidays than the ones listed or the history behind these holidays.
