- 1767 June 29 = Townshend Act
- 1770 March 5 = Boston Massacre
- 1773- May 10 = Tea Act
- 1773 Dec 16 = Boston Tea Party
- 1774 = several of the Intolerable Acts were made by Parliament(Boston Port Act-closed the Poston Port and the Quartering Act said the Americans had to keep British soldiers in their homes.
- 1774 Sept. 5 Oct 26 =The First Continental Congress met in Philedelphia
- 1775 April 18 = Ride of Paul Revere
- 1775 April 19 Minutemen and Redcoats class at the first battle at Lexington and Concord often called the shot that was heard around the world.
- 1775 May 10 = Second Continental Congress meets again in Philedelphia.
- 1775 June 15 = George Washington is named as Commander and Chief by the Second Continental Congress
- 1775 June 17 = Battle of Bunker Hill where the British drive the patriots back. It is often called the bloodiest battle.
- 1775 July 3 = Washington assumes the command of the Continental army.
- 1776 Jan 15 = Thomas Paines Common Sense
- 1776 July 4 = Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence and it is sent to the printer.
- 1776 July 8 = The first time the Declaration of Independence is read publically.
- 1776 Oct 2 = Deligate begin to sign the Declaration of Indepence.
- 1777 July 27 = LaFayette comes to Philedelphia
- 1777 Oct 17 = British lost to the Americans at the battle of Saratoga thought to be the turning point of the war.
- - Dec 19 = Washington takes winter quarters in Valley Forge.
- 1778 feb 6 = France an the United States sign an alliance.
- 1780 May 12 = British capture Charleston SC
- 1780 July 11 = French troops arrive to help the patriots.
- 1781 Jan 17 = patriots overwhelm British at Cowpens SC
- 1781 March 2 = Articles of Confederation adopted
- 1781 Oct 19 = Cornwallis was surrounded on land and sea and surrenders to French and Americans at Yorktown Va.
- 1782 Dec 14 = British finally leave Charleston SC
- 1783 Sep 3 = United States and Great Britain sign the Treaty of Paris
- 1783 Dec 23 = Washington resigns as commander
- 1787 Sept 17 = US Constitution signed
- 1788 June 21 = Constitution is ratified when New Hamshire ratified it.
