- Talk to the students about the compass directions and go outside to locate these directions by using the sun in the early morning and in the late afternoon.
- Next have a map of the united States and find our state. Now find the compass directions as they relate to our states. Determine northern, southern, and western states.
- Talk about the different regions of the US and how the weather and geography are different.
- Using the video talk about the different regions.
- Discuss each of the vocabulary terms in relationship to the topic.
- Begin to explain to students that different cultures can be distinguished by their language, religion, customs, etc.
